Larimer Square

Larimer Square is an urban refurbishment in Denver with buildings dating back to the Civil War period. In 1971, Larimer Square became Denver’s first historic district. Today, the district is home to art galleries, boutique storefronts, and restaurants. In the evening, the streets come alive with concerts, comedy shows, and other forms of live entertainment. One of ParkChirp’s featured locations, Independence Plaza, is walking distance to Larimer Square and offers affordable weekday and weekend parking rates.

Denver Center for the Performing Arts

The Denver Center for the Performing Arts sits on the south side of Larimar Square and includes the Boettcher Concert Hall, Auditorium Theater, and Ellie Caulkins Opera House. A night out at the Center for Performing Arts may include watching a Broadway Show or enjoying a play or a variety of other performances. The center also functions as an educational facility and offers acting classes to the public. The Independence Plaza garage is also walking distance to the Denver Center for the Performing Arts.

US Mint

The Denver mint struck its first coin on February 1, 1906. It is the world’s single largest producer of coins today. As one of six mints in the United States, part of the country’s gold reserves are stored onsite. Visitors can take a free guided tour of the facility to learn about the history and process of making money. The 1245 Bannock Street lot is located just a few blocks from the Mint and provides discounted parking on weekdays and weekends.
